Welcome to the home of Cheeky Monkeys. As parents ourselves we know how difficult it is to find the right nursery for your children. The purpose of this website is to give you as much information as we can in order that you get to know us as quickly as possible. It is extremely important that you are made aware of our policies and philosophies so that you can feel confident in the choice, which you are about to make for your child. Cheeky Monkeys Day Nursery provides professional care for children from birth to 5 years of age, in a relaxed and happy atmosphere that is both safe and secure. In this supportive environment your child will be able to learn through play and, follow a curriculum that will help them to develop to their full potential.

Places are understandably, highly sought after by parents in the area, with only limited availability. We recommend, therefore, that should you wish to book a place, you do so as early as possible or ask to join our waiting list. Our baby unit is particularly busy and constantly fully booked and parents are strongly advised to book places during pregnancy or shortly after birth in order to be assured a place! We accept all employer supported childcare vouchers.

Both our Cheeky Monkeys Day Nursery sites are conveniently situated to cover the Colchester area and the surrounding villages and we are open between the hours of 7.00am and 7.00pm. With easy access to Feering station and both Colchester stations.

Extremely experienced managers who have worked in the industry for many years head the nurseries. We also employ a number of senior nursery nurses and a team of nursery nurses and nursery assistants. Our staff are specifically trained in order that we may deliver a curriculum consistent with most children achieving the Early Learning Goals by the end of the Foundation Stage.
Our sites cater for children aged 0-5 years with the children grouped according to age in our spacious facilities.

We encourage children to move between different learning environments, as they want to. Cheeky Monkeys believe children learn in an environment they feel best suited to as all people have different learning styles, Kinetic, Auditory, depending on your child’s learning style will depend on the way they perform and learn. We feel that if we provide a stimulating learning environment the children will thrive and develop the skills needed when they enter school full time.
Children have a key person assigned who is responsible for your Childs development and planning for their individual needs. They will keep you up to date with what your child does during the day as well as our long-term goal through next sep planning and their learning journals.

Meals such as breakfast are provided for those children who arrive by 9am, a cooked midday meal is provided for those children attending all day and those attending the morning session. Milk and fruit are provided mid-morning and afternoon tea is provided mid-afternoon. Our Healthy food facilities are provided by our on site chef, Peta.
